Jan Marini's Reformulated Eyelash Product is Available Now !!

As you know most of the current companies that produce the various eyelash products have temporarily stopped shipment of their products in response to claims by the FDA of using ingredients that were reported to be prescriptive in nature. Many of these companies have now re-formulated their products, excluding the various prostaglandin analogues that were the center of the controversy.

Jan Marini has re-formulated her product (with reported good results) and it is now available at the Athena Medical Skincare and Wellness Institute !! Call us at 941-6300 to reserve your Jan Marnin product.

Lumilash, a prescriptive product by Allergan, will include the original (and effective) prostaglandin ingredient, bimatoprost. It is still under clinical trials and will probably launch either at the end of 2008 or early next year. Lumilash will require a prescription.

Athena Medical Clinic and Wellness Institute will carry both the Jan Marini product (now available) and Lumilash as soon as it is released.

Restylane Research Update !!

In the February, 2007, issue of Archives of Dermatology, Voorhees and colleagues report that injection of Restylane stimulates collagen synthesis from dermal fibroblasts, partially restoring dermal matrix components that are lost in photodamaged skin.

What this implies is that regular use of Restylane actually stimulates the production of the body's own collagen in the skin, suggesting the need for less frequent Restylane injections with regular use, and much longer lasting effects from the collagen that the body's own fibroblasts produce!!
