Botox

What is it?

Botox is an injectable medication that is used to significantly reduce facial wrinkles. Cosmetic uses of Botox include treating common signs of aging, such as; the horizontal lines on the forehead, vertical lines between the eyebrows and on the bridge of the nose, and fine lines or "crow's feet" at the corners of the eyes.

How dose it work?

Botox rejuvenation is a simple procedure in which a specially trained physician or registered nurse carefully injects a very low dose of "botulinum toxin, type A" into or around an individual's facial muscles, causing temporary relaxation of the injected muscle which results in a reduction of facial wrinkles.

You can expect to see results within a few days after the treatment and visible results can last up to 4 months. The procedure may have to be repeated every three to four months to maintain results. The procedure is quick and discomfort is minimal and brief. Ideal candidates for Botox injections are young to middle age men and women who do not have significant sun damage but want to eliminate lines and wrinkles on their face. Botox can be combined with other cosmetic procedures to enhance outcomes.

Restylane

What is it?

Restylane is a natural cosmetic dermal "filler" that restores volume, contour and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles, creases and folds. Restylane has a highly favorable safety profile. It is composed of stabilized hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the human body. Unlike other hyaluronic acid and bovine collagen products, Restylane is free from animal proteins, thus minimizing any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reactions.

How does it work?

Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, then gently massaged or "sculpted" to the desired effect. Unlike other dermal fillers, Restylane does not harden over time, so you do not feel it when touching your face. To optimize your comfort during the short procedure, our physician may anesthetize the treatment area. The effects of Restylane generally last for four to six months, depending on the area of the face.

Micrograft Hair Restoration

What is it?

Micrograft Hair Restoration is an "in clinic" minor surgical procedure that involves relocating (transplanting) the "bald resistant" hair follicles from the back of the head to the balding areas on the top and front of the head.

How does it work?

Under a local anesthetic (lidocaine), and sterile conditions, a small strip of hair is surgically removed from the back or the head. Individual hair follicles (containing between 1 to 4 hairs) are surgically separated and prepared for reinsertion in the balding areas of the scalp. This is accomplished by making a tiny incision with a special scalpel and then placing the harvested hair follicle in the incision. This is repeated between 500 - 1200 times during the procedure. The procedure takes about 4-8 hours to complete (depending on the number of "follicular units" to be transplanted. Patients usually watch a few of their favorite DVD's during the procedure and take breaks to eat and use the restroom.

This process is effective and will last a lifetime because the hair follicles taken from the back of the head are genetically resistant to baldness, no matter where they are transplanted.

E-Max Hair Removal

As a long term hair reduction treatment, the E-Max laser by Syneron is used safely and effectively to remove all types of pigmented hair anywhere on the face and body. The laser penetrates deep into the hair follicle where it triggers a photothermal reaction which destroys the pigmented cells of the follicle and inhibits their ability to regenerate. Individual hairs go into their growth phase at different times so a series of treatments about 6-8 weeks apart will be necessary to remove all of the unwanted hairs. Usually 4-5 treatments are necessary to remove the unwanted hair. Blond, white and gray hairs (minimal pigment) take more treatments to obtain the desired results. There is minimal discomfort with the E-Max laser.

E-Max Skin Rejuvenation and Photofacial

The E-Max laser effectively treats sun-damaged skin by a process that destroys damaged tissue and rebuilds new collagen beneath the skin surface, tightening the skin and smoothing it out. The E-Max is excellent for resolving stubborn and resistant superficial pigmented and vascular lesions, including telangiectasias, symptoms of rosacea and angioma. For optimal results, multiple treatments are necessary. Initially, a series or treatments will be required every 4-6 weeks. Follow up treatments will vary between 8-16 weeks depending on the severity of the sun damage and the number of previous treatments.

Environ Facial: Iontophoresis and Sonophoresis

What is it?

The Environ Facial procedure incorporates the use of the Environ Ionzyme-DF technology with intensive cosmeceutical products to treat scars, lines and wrinkles, pigmentation problems, and acne.

How does it work?

The Ionzyme-DF machine uses "sonophoresis" (low frequency ultrasound) and "iontophoresis" (galvanic current) to enhance the penetration of intensive, medical-grade products deeper into the skin where the higher levels of Vitamin A and Vitamin C can work effectively to change skin cells on a molecular level.

Cosmelan Depigmentation Treatment

What is it?

The Cosmelan Depigmentation treatment is a highly effective and safe solution to all of your pigmentation problems. It is a versatile process that is easily adapted to the individual needs of each client.

Ultrasonic Microdermabrasion

What is it?

The SkinMaster Ultrasonic Microdermabrasion system uses powerful "sound wave" technology to improve your skin's texture, tone and appearance. This new, particle-free (no silica or aluminum particles embedded in your skin or hair), non-invasive technology provides a painless and highly effective solution for the most common and troublesome skin issues including: fine lines, blemishes, premature aging, hyperpigmentation (brown spots) and sun damage.

How does it work?

The SkinMaster uses a unique ultrasonic actuator (wand) to evenly exfoliate (peel) and deeply cleanse the stratum corneum (the layer of dry, dead skin cells) of the epidermis. This is followed by an intense hydration (moisturizing) treatment of the skin using a different function of the SkinMaster. The system is able to assist in skin nourishment and renewal by using ultrasound to greatly enhance skin care product's penetration into the epidermis (top layer of the skin), as well as increasing blood flow to deeper layers of the skin. Mechanical energy is used to decrease accumulation of melanin (skin pigment) and to address fine lines and wrinkles. The procedure finishes with a regeneration function that firms and deeply hydrates the epidermis, leaving your skin looking and feeling firm, glowing, smooth, and younger looking. There is no discomfort or "down time" with this procedure; you're back to work immediately after the treatment with no redness or discomfort. Treatments take approximately an hour.

Vascutouch

What is it?

Vascutouch is a quick and effective treatment for the removal of unsightly vascular lesions such as telangiectasia (prominent or broken capillaries), spider veins, cherry angiomas, skin tags, and milia (pigmented, raised bumps) found on the face and body.

How does it work?

The Vascutouch uses very low levels of Radiofrequency (RF) and DC current, simultaneously, to electrocoagulate (eliminate the blood supply to) the capillary or lesion without damaging the surrounding tissue. The procedure is very simple and will be performed by a specially trained registered nurse. After the surface of the skin is cleansed and prepped, a fine-tipped sterile probe is placed on the surface of the skin, directly over the capillary or lesion to be removed. Low level RF and DC currents are then passed through the probe and the blood supply to the capillary or lesion is instantly eliminated. The skin is not broken or punctured during the procedure. Depending on the number of lesions to be treated, most conditions can be successfully and permanently done in one or two 30-minute sessions. During the procedure, some people will experience a "pinprick" sensation that can be mildly uncomfortable. A topical anesthetic (numbing agent) will be applied to the treatment area prior to beginning the procedure so that discomfort is minimized.

BioUltimate Face Lift

What is it?

Bioelectric and BioUltimate therapies use a variety of electrical frequencies (electropulse therapy) to stimulate cells and "reeducate" muscles in such a manner that the muscles and connective tissues of the face, chin, and neck are strengthened and tightened.

How does it work?

Using mild electrical pulses, facial muscles become firmer, wrinkles disappear, and excess fluid is eliminated. Because the equipment operates at micro amperage levels, the client usually cannot feel any electrical sensation. Most clients will see subtle differences after the first treatment. It is recommended that the client have a series of two treatments a week for 6 months. Duration of treatment depends upon age and initial condition of the face. After the initial series, most clients continue with a maintenance program in order to continue optimal results. Treatments take approximately an hour and are pleasant and relaxing.

LED (Light Emitting Diode) Therapy

What is it?

The "Cold Light" Technology is based on established research using Light Emitting Diodes to deliver specific wavelengths of Red, Infrared, and Blue Light energy to your skin.

How does it work?

This light energy passes through a layer of phytogel to stimulate, regenerate and hydrate your skin. According to NASA space program research (they developed the technology), the specified wavelengths found in the Cold Light stimulate cellular growth and metabolism, resulting in increased collagen production. The Cold Light is indicated for the improvement of overall tone and texture of the skin, rosacea, acne, acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and soft tissue (myofascial) pain management.
